What is a CPIW designation and why would I want my agent to have this designation?

CPIW stands for Certified Professional Insurance Woman. There is also a CPIM designation for men. This designation was earned thru participation in the International Association of Insurance Professionals trade association. The CPIW and CPIM designations were replaced by the CIIP Designation (Certified Insurance Industry Professional) that is used for both women and men.

These designations certify professional development, technical knowledge and leadership skills. Course work stresses high standards, a commitment to continuing education and an awareness of industry issues.

To qualify for these designations, a candidate must be a continuous member of the International Association of Insurance Professionals for 3 years, complete a non-association industry educational program/designation, and finish a series of IAIP educational classes within 3 years.

The International Association of Insurance Professionals has developed these courses that are offered in a variety of platforms so that agents can attend in person (offered at International Conventions, Regional and Council events, and online for remote learners).

Why do you want my agent to have this designation?
Insurance laws and policies are constantly changing. An Agent with a commitment to life long learning, is keeping up with Industry Trends, Career Development and Community Leadership.
