An Unexpected Payment Message? Pause Before You Pay.

An email or text says a payment failed, an account needs updating, or a bill needs immediate attention. Before you follow the link, take a moment to verify the request.

Scammers can imitate familiar businesses. A recognizable logo or professional-looking message doesn’t prove who sent it.

Check through a separate channel. Open the company’s app yourself, use a saved website bookmark, or call a number from your policy documents or a previous statement. Avoid using the link or phone number in a suspicious message.

Keep private information private. Don’t send passwords, verification codes or banking details in response to an unexpected request.

Verify promptly. If a message mentions an insurance payment or cancellation, don’t simply ignore it. Contact your agency or carrier through a trusted channel to confirm whether action is needed.

Add another layer of account security. Enable multifactor authentication where available.
