Our office will be closed on March 27th for Career Day at Spring Valley Elementary School! We are getting our coloring book order ready to pass out to 250 elementary school children. Why do insurance agents visit elementary schools? Not only to talk about careers in insurance – but to educate children about fire safety. What could an insurance agent talk about with first thru fifth graders?
We talk about things you might remember from school –
- “Get Low and Go” or what to do if they hear smoke alarms.
- Calling 9-1-1 in an emergency.
- Having family fire drills and choosing a meeting place for emergencies. Practice your Home Fire Escape Plan.
- And everyone’s favorite – “Stop, Drop and Roll!“
Coloring books let the kids bring home something to start a conversation with parents about Fire Safety. We even have two different types of coloring books. Operation Edith provided by Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina is geared to the younger grades and Ernie’s Fire Safety Tips from Erie Insurance is more appealing to the older kids.
If your school needs an insurance agent for Career Day or Fire Safety Day, give Middle Creek Insurance a call. Community involvement is part of our business.
